This same phenomenon is responsible for the blue color of Earth's skies and deep ocean waters. Over millions of years, Silica-rich solutions gradually replaced the Crocidolite fibers with Quartz, preserving the original fibrous structure; and residual Iron from the Crocidolite oxidized, creating the Golden-brown streaks that sometimes appear.
